Buttermilk Cheese 'n' Egg Bread
Ingredients:

3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons butter
1 large egg -- plus
1 egg yolk
3 cups bread flour - (to 3 1/2 cups)
1/8 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast - (to 2 tspns)
1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese in 1/4" dice -- see * Note

* Note: Cut cheese into 1/4" size dice and keep in a container in the
freezer until ready to add to dough.

Place all ingredients, except cheese, in the bread pan in the order
recommended by your machine's manufacturer. Process on the Dough cycle.

Add diced cheese at Add In Beeps; but do not let machine complete the
cycle -- stop the machine, once all the cheese is incorporated. Then let
the dough r

Rise again and bake large 9- by 5-inch loaf, or 12- by 4-inch loaf, or 8
generous rolls in 325 degree oven -- 40 minutes for loaves or 25 minutes
for rolls. Higher oven temperature will overbrown this dough. Cool
completely on rack.

This recipe yields a 1 1/2 pound loaf.
