Buttermilk Bread With Poppy Seeds
Ingredients:


Cooking Directions:

1 1/3 cups water -- (75 to 80 degrees)
3 cups white bread flour
1/3 cup cracked wheat
1/3 cup dry buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon butter -- at room temperature
2 teaspoons rapid rise yeast
(or 1 tbspn active dry yeast)
1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Put all ingrediets into bread pan EXCEPT poppy seeds according to your
manufacturer's directions. Select regular, rapid or delayed cycle and
light crust setting.

After the first beep or towards the end of the first knead, add the poppy
seeds, following your bread machine's directions for raisin bread. Bake
and cool as directed.

This recipe yields a 1 1/2 pound loaf.

Comments: Recipe not appropriate for delayed bake cycle if using fresh
buttermilk.
